February 23, 2007 - Danny and Matt Allen, Jerry and his friend Tom, Eric, Kathy (from my church), JK, Mark, Daniel, Jeremy and his friend Adam, I met in Highlands on Bardstown Road across from Ear X-Tacy. We did the "Talk Jude 23 Radio" show LIVE! from 7:00pm - 8:00pm. Click HERE to listen to the show. The very first person that we shared the Gospel with, Ren, repented and put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ! Praise God! We also a couple of other great witnessing opportunities. We thank God that He gives us the ability to boldly proclaim His Good News to this lost and dying world! February 17, 2007 - The team got together for what we call "Home Team". Tom and Kristina Simms opened their home to us and served the team chili, potato soup, salad, taco salad and dessert. My family, Jerry and his family, Matt and his wife Laurie, Danny and his family (Robin couldn't make it due to illness), Matt and his wife, Eric and his three sons, Sylvester, and Mark and his wife Jill were there for this time of fun, food and fellowship. We played pool, foosball, did some fun and interesting team building activities and got a sneak peak at the new “Intelligent Design vs. Evolution Board Game” from Way of the Master. At the end of the evening all 26 of us went outside to build snowmen in Kristina's front yard. Um...wait a minute...no we didn't!!! Anyways, we had a great time and are looking forward to the next "Home Team". Would you like to host the next one? If so, drop us an EMail! February 16, 2007 - Danny and Matt Allen, Kristina, Matt, Jerry, my daughter Sara and I met at the Mall-St. Matthews at 6:30pm to try to reach people for Jesus Christ. Two of Danny's classmates at Boyce College, Gus and Chris, met with us as well. During the mall outing, Jerry was stopped in the middle of a One2-One by mall security. Jerry asked the security guard why he was being stopped from talking to people. The security guard said that Jerry was soliciting (which he wasn't) and told him to leave the mall. Jerry asked the security guard to provide some documentation as to why he was being ejected from the mall. The security guard would not provide an explanation, but just continued to ask Jerry to leave. Jerry called me on the phone shortly after getting the "boot" and explained what happened. I decided that I was going to approach the same security guard (Jerry gave me a description) to find out what was so wrong about talking to people in the mall about where they would spend eternity. I borrowed Danny's iPod voice recorder. LISTEN to what happened. Interesting, huh? There was a security guard waiting for me outside and as I waited for Jerry to pick me up, the "head" security guard and someone else (plain clothes) showed up and asked me about what happened. I explained the situation to him and he then told me that I was "free to go" (as if he was going to arrest me or something). As I was about to get into Jerry's van I turned to him with a Million Dollar bill and said, "Did you get one of these?" He, of course, said, "No, I don't want one." The end of THIS radio show (you can fast forward!) has more about our witnessing outing. February 11, 2007 - Danny, Jeremy Shelton and his wife, Adam (Jeremy's friend from the seminary) and his wife and I met in the Highlands on Bardstown road on this chilly day for the primary purpose of getting footage of Jeremy doing some One-2-One witnessing. The secondary purpose was to get some footage for The Jude 23 Network television show! Jeremy has been given the opportunity to preach next Sunday in Tennessee. He is going to use about five minutes or so of the footage of him street witnessing to show to the congregation after he preaches "Hell's Best Kept Secret". The concept is to let the congregation see that Jeremy does "practice what he is preaching". I was able to stop about three or four people to interview with Jeremy in the Highlands and then we drove down to the Extreme Skate Park and did two or three more interviews there. Jeremy was able to faithfully witness to those people that God provided us divine appointment with as Danny and I filmed. Some of the interviews were "interesting" to say the least. Look for some of the footage in this Wednesday's upcoming episode and the following Wednesday! (Episodes 11 and 12) Read accounts from other members of The Jude 23 Network!!! February 9, 2007 - Danny and Matt Allen, Gary (from Richmond), Sylvester, Jeremy Shelton, Daniel, Jeremy Gerwe (from my church), Emily and I met at the Mall-St. Matthews at 6:30pm. Daniel's birthday was yesterday so we sang "Happy Birthday" to him, which completely embarrassed him! While sitting at the table waiting for everyone to show up, I noticed the group of teens that we had seen a couple of weeks ago (1/19/2007). I approached them to say hi. Not surprisingly, their initial reaction was not very positive. I just said, "Hello, it's nice to see you again" and headed back to the table. Ironically enough, they followed me over to the table and began to talk to us as we were about to pray. The "leader" walked over behind me and handed me a small plastic "packet". I flipped it over only to realize that it was a condom. I immediately threw it down on the table. Of course, he was doing this just to get a reaction out of me. He walked away momentarily and then walked back over and said, "Hey, can I get that back?" I handed the "packet" back to him and he immediately said, "What are you doing handing out condoms?" What a comedian. We invited the group to pray with us. The "leader" and most blasphemous of the group stepped up and said that he wanted to pray. I initially just looked at him like he was crazy, but said, "go ahead." He then proceeded to pray a quick, but irreverent prayer. We then prayed. While praying, he was making commenting about everything that was said. We just continued to pray. One of the teens, Hillary, that I had not spoken with before came over to me and asked if we would pray for her and her boyfriend; they had just broken up and she didn't know why. I told her that I would pray, but I wanted to ask her a couple of questions first. I began the conversation by asking her if she thought she would go to Heaven when she dies. That was the start of a great witnessing opportunity. Even better was the fact that a few of her friends were standing behind her and listening to the entire conversation. During the conversation the "leader" was coming up behind me and rubbing on my shoulders and arm in an "affectionate" manner. I just ignored him because I didn't think that he meant any harm and is just acting out to seek attention. I think the conversation between Hillary and I was a good one. She seemed to be intently listening and said that she "felt like she needed to go to church every day". I guess the conviction of the Holy Spirit comes in many forms. I gave her the tract "10 Things God Can't Do" (Yeah, I know, but that's all I had on me!) and told her to read it and consider what we had talked about. I then prayed for her situation, but mainly prayed that the Holy Spirit would continue to convict her and that she would repent and put her faith and trust in Jesus Christ. The rest of the team had already departed the table and headed into the mall. Emily, Jeremy Gerwe and I left the table, dropped the tracts off at my car and headed into the mall. I saw a large group of teens by the dancing water fountains in front of J.C. Penney. I approached them without a tract and said that I was asking people in the mall a very unusual question. They were a bit bewildered by my approach, but I continued to speak and asked them what they thought happened when they died... Check back later to see:
