EMail Me!

Hey! My name is Miranda. I’m 15
years old and a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church. Jesus Christ saved my life
about 4 years ago. I was deeply concerned because my friends and family did not
know the Lord. I wanted to tell them about Him, but every attempt I made ended
in disappointment at myself for not being able to witness to them effectively.
After doing a book study on the Case for Christ by Lee Strobel, I became
extremely interested in apologetics, the defense of the faith. In just 7th grade
I was reading books that showed me evidence for Christianity. I incorporated
these defenses into my conversations when I witnessed, but they didn’t seem to
do any good. People acknowledged the validity of these arguments, but they
walked away not knowing any more about Jesus and His saving grace. =0 A
That all changed when I went on a mission trip in late 2007. The youth group I
traveled with was very briefly exposed to The Way of the Master. We were taught
to use the Ten Commandments to show people they’re not as good as they think,
and then give them the Gospel (Gal. 3:24). They had us witness in a mall the
next day and unfortunately that wasn’t such a pleasant experience for me. But
God took a bad situation and used it for good. One of the youth pastors that
went with us, a wonderful man of God, Brian Lee, sent me the first season of The
Way of the Master. I began teaching it to my youth group, hoping it would give
them a passion for evangelism.
Zach Costantino, one of the teens in my youth group, captured that passion. He
met John at the Flea Market and started going out with The Jude 23 Network. On
April 26, 2008, I began to do the same. I learned from witnessing and from 1
Corinthians 2:1-5 to base my conversations on Jesus Christ and Him alone.
Evidence can be helpful, but without mentioning sin, Jesus’ substitutionary
death on the cross, and repentance, the conversations won’t make an eternal
difference. God has given me such a passion for evangelism. Sharing my faith is
the least I can do for Him when He's done everything for me. |
